"The beginning is the most important part of the work."
-Pluto
Making the choice to take care of my mental and emotional self has been one of the hardest changes I have learned to embrace. It has also been the most rewarding. I entered into my 20s as a single mom, people pleasing my way through life. I moved states, got engaged, got married, and had my second child in the span of three years. All of the huge moments came and went, and I still had not found a sense of self. And then 2020. The world was forced to pause. I was forced to pause.
I finally felt that I could catch my breath and allow myself to become who I am.
In the quiet, I started to notice how much of myself I had set aside just to keep moving forward. Piece by piece, I began to sort through the roles I had played and the expectations I had carried. It wasn’t glamorous or sudden—it was slow, tender work. But with each small step, I began to feel more rooted. More honest. More me.
And now, much further along on that journey, I carry a deeper trust in myself—and a knowing that it’s never too late to come home to who you truly are.
